How many musicians are there in Jola’s Jukebox?

There are 6 of us; a Lead Vocalist, Saxophonist, Drummer, Keyboard, Guitarist and Bass. 

 

For a smaller, more relaxed event, we can also offer 2-4 of our talented musicians to play a chilled acoustic lounge set. 

 

Want a bigger band? No problem! We have a strong network of professional musicians. Just talk to us and we’ll create a Jola band that works for you. 

 

How much does it cost to book you? 

 

Taking into account all the different circumstances, we don't have a fixed price (for example; travel, dates, size of venue, number of musicians/ sets, PA requirements, hours performed, special requests & rehearsal costs, etc). However, our prices start from just £600 for a duo and from £1,700 for the full band.

 

What do I get for my money?

 

  • A dedicated Jola's contact throughout the planning process to ensure a seamless experience. 

  • Band Hire for up to 6 hours (typically 6pm til midnight for an evening booking) including set-up and sound check.

  • Extra hours can be arranged from £50 per musician per hour, or as per our special packages (see Packages).

  • A Bespoke Disco Service any time the band isn’t playing

  • A Full professional PA Set up, Sound and Stage Lighting

  • Sound Engineer, where required

  • PAT Certified Equipment and Public Liability Insurance up to £10 million

  • A guarantee that we will never cancel your booking on your special day

How long do you need to set up?

 

We always arrive at least an hour & a half before ‘Showtime’ (or 45 minutes for an acoustic duo/trio set). Typically, for an evening only booking, we would arrive at 6.00pm, setting up our equipment and completing our soundcheck, ready to begin with the first dance at around 8.30pm.

 

What are the Band’s Requirements?

 

  • A performance area of at least 5m x 3m - this must be safe, stable and sheltered. A stage would be ideal but it’s not necessary - it just needs to a be firm, dry and level surface (i.e, we can’t play on grass in a marquee for safety reasons). Too much space is better than too little!

  • Close access to 3 or 4 separate plug sockets (not extension leads)

  • Accessible parking close to the venue for unloading/loading our huge amounts of kit

  • A room for the band with a table, chairs and enough space to change and store our instruments, ideally indoors, heated and lockable

  • We will be at the venue for several hours so a hot meal and soft drinks throughout the evening would be most appreciated

  • If we are performing for you at a sit down event, we would recommend not seating your guests too close to the PA system. We want you all to be able to enjoy an easy conversation over dinner and always do our best to balance the setlist and sound to a comfortable level, but if space is an issue, do plan your seating plan with your guests in mind (and perhaps place the louder party animals nearer the front)?!

Do you take special requests?

 

Yes, we do! We have a large repertoire of songs, but we realise that you may have that special song or first dance that you would like us to play for you. We just ask for some notice in advance where possible!

Our Venue has a Sound Limiter. Is that a problem?

 

No problem at all! We are used to them, so just let us know if your venue has one and our Sound Engineer will structure the set up around this to ensure that we keep within the strictest venue guidelines without compromising on the quality of the sound on the day.

 

Will you travel?

 

Yes, we will! We are all based in and around Berkshire and London, but we are happy to travel for your event. Where you are located will be taken into account at the point of booking and your quotation will take into consideration travel times, possible overnight accommodation and expenses, where applicable.
